Naomi Fliss Isakov is Head of Nutrition Research in the Ministry of Health Israel with previous experience in research for 5 years in Tel Aviv Medical Centre. She is a Dietitian (B.Sc.) and an Epidemiologist (PhD), coordinating clinical dietary therapy and research in the field of nutrition since 2010.

In her previous position, she was in charge of data gathering and analysis to evaluate dietary exposures within the Israeli population and assess the acceptance and effectiveness of nutritional public policy in Israel. Her fields of interest included the effect of current nutritional policy in Israel, nutritional insecurity and socio-economic aspects of diet, the food environment’s effect on the population’s diets, and the environmental footprint of the Israeli diet.

She is also a Postdoctoral fellow at the School of Public Health, Hebrew University, and a lecturer at the School of Public Health of Tel Aviv University.

Mairead Kiely is a Professor in Human Nutrition at University College Cork, Ireland. She is co-director of the Cork Centre for Vitamin D and Nutrition Research and a Principal Investigator at the INFANT Research Centre for Maternal and Child Health. Her research focusses on micronutrient nutrition and health. She co-led the European Commission-funded programme on vitamin D; ODIN, from 2013 to 2017 is currently joint co-ordinator of the Zero_HiddenHunger_EU consortium, which is running from 2024-2027. Mairead is joint lead of the Nutrition and Health Programme for the Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems, which commenced in 2024. She has published > 250 peer-reviewed articles in international food, nutrition and medical journals. She is a member of the UK Scientific Advisory Committee for Nutrition (SACN) and the SACN Subgroup on Maternal and Child Nutrition (SMCN) and was elected to the Royal Irish Academy in 2022 on the basis of excellence in nutrition science.

Eva Maire is a quantitative ecologist working to address challenges in tropical marine systems using both ecological and social-ecological approaches. Her research is highly interdisciplinary, covering global issues related to small-scale fisheries management, environmental change, human health, and biodiversity conservation. Her current work focuses on the contributions of small-scale fisheries to human health, with an emphasis on understanding how climate change affects food and nutrition security in the tropics. Eva is a permanent researcher at IRD – the French Research Institute for Sustainable Development – and is currently based in Montpellier, France

Matilda Nordman is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). She has a background in human nutrition and specializes in sustainable and healthy diets. Her research focuses on the quantitative sustainability assessment of diets and the use of mathematical optimization to identify sustainable dietary practices.

Anna has been the Director of the Centre for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB) for 5 years (May 2017-July 2022) and of Institute for Innovation, Capacity building and Sustainability of Agri-Food production (Inov4Agro) for one year and half (January 2021-July 2022).

She is responsible for the Phytochemicals Laboratory, and Coordinator of the Agri-Food Quality Group. Her research targets are mainly in the identification, separation, and recovery of functional molecules from different natural products, as well as their implementation as ingredients and bioactive compounds in food, pharma and cosmetic industries, with an ultimate goal to extract high added-value molecules and re-use them in the circular economy and industrial symbiosis concepts.

In the last years, she was awarded with several prizes and distinctions. She has published more than 140 scientific documents, including research articles, reviews, and editorials, within the highest impact factor journals in the Food Science and Technology field (36 h-index, SCOPUS, May 2024). She has registered 8 national and international patents. She has international collaborations and is PI and member of several financed research projects with different typologies (last 5 years). She is the coordinator from the European project WASTELESS|TOPIC ID: HORIZON-CL6-2022-FARM2FORK-01-08. Her scientific work has raised interest and has led to the supervision of Post-doc (3 concluded, 1 ongoing), PhD (12 concluded and 7 ongoing), Master (46 concluded and 7 ongoing) and Bachelor (46 concluded) students. She has been member of organizing committees of scientific conferences, presented invited lectures in international and national conferences, and have >400 oral/poster communications, including papers in conference proceedings.
